Dead Right: Lincoln Mark III in the desert

Ever since I'd seen William Friedkin's The French Connection, I wanted a Lincoln Mark III and finally bought the one seen here from a car collector who kept it in a carpeted garage. Had he any idea that I would be using it to film on a dry lake bed in the desert, he never would have sold it to me.

Film buffs will note that I paid an unabashed tribute to Lawrence of Arabia, Peter O'Toole, Omar Sharif and Sir David Lean.
